Arthurs Seat

Arthurs Seat is one of our top places to visit whilst in Edinburgh. It provides one of the best views of the city as a whole, and the surrounding areas. From its peak you can see the Fourth Bridges on the western suburbs of the city, all the way to North Berwick Law on the east, and everything in between. Formed over thousands of years, the volcanic rock is 251m in height and is easily accessible from the city centre.

To get to Arthurs Seat, we advise that you make your way to the Royal Mile before heading to the bottom of it, towards Holyrood Palace. Walking pass Holyrood Palace, you will see the footpath that winds is way around the hill. Whilst it is a fairly easy climb, it can be steep in parts. We would suggest you wear good shoes! Also, try and get down before dark, as it can be easy to lose you way down at night.
