Loch Ness

Loch Ness

Loch Ness is one of the more famous places to visit when coming to Scotland, and for good reason. It boasts stunning natural scenery and fascinating mythology, as well as being close to Inverness.

Loch Ness is probably Scotlands most famous lake. This is mostly to do with the legend of the Loch’s monster, a creature which has had reported sightings for 100s of years. Whilst we can’t promise that you will see the monster, you certainly will enjoy the natural beauty of the Loch and the surrounding area.

The loch runs for about 23 miles and is easily accessible by car from Inverness. There is plenty to do in this are such as the Loch Ness Centre and Exhibition, Urquhart Castle and the Caledonian Canal, as well as visiting some of the abbeys that are dotted along the banks of the Loch. For those without a car, there are plenty of day trips available up to the Loch, from both Glasgow and Edinburgh. All longer highland tours will also include this as part of their trip.

A standard day trip intinary will include:

  • The stunning scenery of Loch Ness
  • Wildlife in Fort Augustus
  • The natural beauty of Glencoe
  • Optional boat cruise of the Loch.
  • A local guide.
  • Foreign Language Audio Guides.
