Whiskey Experience

Of course Scotland is famous for its whiskey, and Edinburgh, with its cosmopolitan bars, is a perfect place to try it. However, for those who want to learn more about its history, recipe, tradition and flavors, then a trip to the Scotch Whiskey Experience is a fantastic thing to add to your itinerary.

Located at the top of the Royal Mile, this museum to Whiskey is easily accessible. Guests to this attraction will learn all about the history and process of distillation with a short ride through time in a whiskey cask, before learning more about what gives each whiskey its individual flavour, and allows you to learn which regions whiskey you like best. You will be shown one of the best collections of whiskey in the world, before finally reaching it bar, where you can try some of the very whiskeys you’ve been learning about, in the presence of experienced whiskey experts who can answer any and all questions you may still have.

There are a number of different tours you can do here, with their basic package being around £15.50. Our top tip would be to also try their restaurant, Amber, which serves some of the nicest Haggis the city has to offer.
